I mentioned in my last post how many times I’ve started (and stopped) my wight loss blog. I don’t have an exact number, but I do know it’s quite a few times. (I can think of 3 different times in the last year!)
Well, when this time of year rolled around, I know you know what I mean. The time of year, where we all realized we’ve eaten to much over the holidays; our clothes don’t quite fit anymore; where a new year is about to begin and we think we need to do a complete 180 on our life and become someone new????
You know, that time of year???
That’s right now. And even though I feel like I started my journey a couple months back, this is starting right now.
Well, I looked around and found all my favorite nutrition places and checked out their Winter/Spring Fat loss (weight loss) challenges.
There’s 3 different ones I’ve signed up for in the past, putted out halfway through, and finally gave up.
Well, none of them started their challenge at the same time.
Tom Venuto over at Burn the Fat Inner Circle, started his the stroke of midnight right after New Year’s Eve. Yup, January 1!
Clean Simple Eats, who I actually adore their meal plans, wasn’t starting until the following Monday… because you always have to start on a Monday. January 4th.
And my local Nutrishop had an initial weigh in period of January 8 – 17. I mean wow! Plus, none of them were the same length.
So I waited, until almost all of my family was finally back out of town after the holidays, and set a start date for January 8.
January 8th was the last day to start over at the BF Inner Circle and the first day I could weight in at Nutrishop.
And, Friday seemed like a good day to start. *shrug*
So, I’ve registered for 3 challenges. All simultaneously going.
I KNOW! I didn’t want to make this about weight loss. But, weight loss… no let’s change that: fat removal (once I “lose” it, I don’t plan to go find it again) is a goal of mine.
And… if I go to Nutrishop and weight in each week, it’ll give me the information I need to evaluate what I’m doing.
… Or maybe I’ll just putt out again.
So yes, I joined the challenge, 3 challenges.
And I wanted to give you my opening stats.
NutriShop has an InBody Analysis scale. It sends these electric signals through your body to find your calculations.
Something I’ve learned from this scale, is if I’m not hydrated enough, it throws my numbers off. If I’m around 79 or 80 lbs of water, then my numbers are good. if I even get down to 77 lbs of water, Skeletal Muscle Mass goes down, and my body fat percentage goes up.
So when I go in, I try to make sure I’m hydrated well.
- Weight: 181.90 lbs
- Skeletal Muscle Mass: 59.97 lbs
- Body Fat: 40.8% = 74.08 lbs
- BMI: 32.23
- Basal Metabolic rate: 1426 kcal
- Dry Lean Mass: 28.9 lbs
- Total Body Water: 78.9 lbs
(I’m not quite ready to give you my before photos, but I do have them.)
I’m working on a list of new habits I want to create in order to become a more energetic, trimmer, runner me. I’m evaluating it to see where I want to start, so that will be next.
