Create Block Groups

Now we’re going to divide up our charm pack.

I want you to make two groups. Your first group will be 20 sets of 2- 5″ square (D) that matches.

The second group will contain 1- 5″ square (E).

In each block, you will need 1-A , 2-D that match, and 1-E.

We will be making 20 blocks, so put together 20 block groups.

Disappearing 4-Patch Block

Take one block group and lay it out in a 2×2 fashion so that D are on opposite corners like shown.

Sew each row together, pressing toward D. Then show the row together.

The 4-patch should measure 9 1/2″ square.

Measuring from the center seam line of your 4-patch, cut off 2 1/4″ from that line.

Place this piece on the opposite side and sew. Press away from center.

Rotate your block 90 degrees and once again, from your center seam, cut off 2 1/4″.

Place this piece on the opposite side and sew. Press away from center.

Trim block to 9″ square.

Make 20 blocks.

Disappearing 4-Patch Quilt

Lay out your quilt blocks in a 4×5 layout.

Place C between each block for sashing and use B to go in between the sashing pieces.

Sew the rows together, pressing each rows toward C. Sew the rows together and press toward your sashing.

Add Your Borders

  • From F you should need:
    • 2- 1″ x 52″
    • 2- 1″ x 43″
  • From G you should need:
    • 2- 3″ x 53″
    • 2- 3″ x 48″

**Before cutting your borders, please measure your quilt to double check your size.**

First sew F on the sides and then the top and bottom, pressing towards F. Then sew G on the sides and then the top and bottom, pressing towards G.

Then give your quilt to a a good press before sending it off to your long arm quilter.

Finished size: 48″ x 58″.

Finishing Your Quilt

Pick out your quilt back and batting and either quilt on your home machine or send it to the long-arm quilter.

Bind your quilt and the snuggle underneath it!
