This week we’re going to tackle another heart quilt block. It’s the Patchwork Heart Block. These are so versatile, you can use your scraps, place them on point or place them on their side.
Stitching With 2 Strings created a super cute table topper with these Patchwork Hearts. With only a slight adjustment, I followed the pattern almost exactly.

Aren’t they cute???
Okay, so let’s get started.
Patchwork Hearts
Cut List
- 17- 2″ x 2″ squares from Valentine fabric
- 2- 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares from Valentine fabric
- 2- 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2 ” squares from background fabric
- 1- 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2 ” square from background fabric

Lay out the fabric and decide how you want it to go. The corner 2 1/2″ squares I cut on the diagonal and put a different one on each corner.

Sew your HST together and trim to 2″ square.

Now sew them together in rows, pressing the seams all in one direction alternating the direction of each row.

Sew the rows together. Start with the top two and then add the big square. Then sew the bottom three together. The seams should be nesting beautifully.

Sew it all together, and wa-lah…. it’s done.

These would be cute on point too….

Thanks again to Stitching with 2 Strings for this tutorial.
